AlphaLinux is a port of the Linux operating system to HP (was Compaq (was Digital))'s Alpha CPU. The Alpha is a true 64-bit CPU. Most of the other components in an Alpha system are the same as an Intel based PC, and most of the x86 Linux software available today can be recompiled on the Alpha. Unfortunately the Alpha is dying a slow death, but it is still a very fast and usable architecture.

TA-Linux is fully supported on Alphas. All firmwares, AlphaBIOS, ARC and SRM are supported. Development is done on a LX164 (with AlphaBIOS) based machine and testing on two older systems, an Aspen EB64+ with ARC and an AlphaStation 200 with SRM.
